ARA Diagnostic Imaging is seeking an experienced Remote Medical Call-Center Agent (Scheduler) to join our growing team!

This position is remote.

Summary:

Spends a significant portion of the day communicating directly with customers, via telephone. Fully engaged in workflow daily to ensure every patient’s journey begins with a meticulously prepared appointment, culminating in exceptional care and prompt imaging results for referring physicians. Communicates with patients or referring physicians gathering all pertinent data for scheduling and preparing patients to receive their imaging services timely. Responsible for maintaining confidential records on new and existing patients. Serves as a liaison between patients, referring physicians and the radiologist. This is a medical contact call center. • In order to qualify to work from home (remotely) you must be able to work independently and have high speed cable internet service (50 mbps download and 5 mbps upload) from a reliable cable provider (Satellite internet and mobile hotspots not accepted). Equipment will be provided for you. The VPN device that is provided will need to be connected to an available port on the modem or wireless router.

Scheduling • Answers incoming calls to schedule appointments. • Contacts patients needing additional imaging and schedules the exam(s) based on Radiologist recommendation on screening exam. • Arranges appropriate date/time based on patient needs and exam being scheduled. • Follows policies and guidelines provided to schedule any ARA exam needed while displaying excellent patient care. • Ensures appropriate documentation (orders, clinicals, etc.) is on file and engages with referring physicians to obtain as needed. • Explains the procedure and answers general questions about the exams. • Gives preparation instructions for all exams. • Documents activities and updates in the appropriate system for practice awareness. • Gathers necessary medical information and follows guidelines about how the exam may change based on the information gathered, based on the exam being scheduled. • Monitors assigned tasks lists and performs necessary duties to resolve tasks. • Ensures accurate demographic information & insurance information in the RIS. • Gives directions to all offices and performs clerical and administrative duties as necessary.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or GED. One to three years of experience in a healthcare or high-volume call center environment and medical terminology experience for radiology procedures preferred.

Skills/Knowledge: • Excellent customer service skills • Detailed oriented, multi- tasking, flexible, and problem-solving skills • Knowledge of medical office procedures • Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make simple calculations and the ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems • Ability to act independently upon receiving information and make decisions that achieve optimal results • Highly motivated with great organizational skills • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, Internet and data-entry programs • Demonstrates a results orientation for delivering appropriate products and services in an accurate, complete and timely fashion • Must be skilled in written and verbal communications, requiring the ability to read and write effectively and efficiently • Skilled in typing at least 25 words per minute
