Allstate Benefits is recruiting an Enterprise Architect that serves as the expert in IT systems architecture, undertaking complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge. The Architect makes decisions on complex or ambiguous IT architecture issues, coordinating with domain architects and delivery managers to determine and define adherence to the Allstate Target State Architecture. Also ensures that solutions are scalable and robust.

The Enterprise Architect’s primary responsibility is to liaison with business and IT leadership to understand the Allstate Benefit’s business mission, vision, growth plans, long term strategy and create future looking, cost effective and robust Solutions. The Solutions must be well architected to tie together business requirements with secure, innovative, scalable and high-performing technologies. The Architect will guide the strategic solutions from ideation to implementation

This role will significantly impact our trajectory and devise clear roadmaps to deliver next generation technology solutions.

Job Family Summary

The Architect contributes to the design and conceptual models on which applications are based and designs the logical structures on which applications or infrastructures are being built, tested and implemented.

Key Responsibilities • Apply Allstate’s Target State Architecture (TSA) as a reference architecture toward the design, deployment and support of highly complex systems that deliver business value • Interact with executive level leadership from Allstate business and technology communicate roadmaps towards the delivery of highly complex solutions • Consult on the application of TSA and establish reusable patterns in the creation of business solutions, through relationship with other Enterprise Architects and execution of Proofs of Concept • Collaborate with and provide technical and professional leadership and coaching to Solution Architects, Delivery Managers, and Lead Engineers • Define end-to-end Architecture for Allstate Benefits’ Transformation Program working with both Business and Technology teams – Application Design, Integration Services, Security, Data & Hybrid Cloud Native Architecture on-premise and Private/Public Cloud services, CRM and Security • Help drive Allstate Benefits’ Transformation Program and communicate technology strategy to leaders and knowledge workers via architecture runway, roadmaps, conceptual diagrams and solution documents • Hold summits with technology and business leaders to identify opportunities for innovation, driven by independent research and analysis of the industry and technology trends • Support vendor selection and analysis process by evaluating vendor architecture's fit within the Allstate ecosystem and Target State Architecture

Education, Skills & Experience

Education:

College Degree with technical study or equivalent experience

Experience:

? 10+ years technical experience in architecture/design; 4+ years’ experience with Agile

? 5+ years technical experience with defining reference architectures, solution/integration architectures

? Platform Services Application development – Java/J2EE, Spring boot, Microservices, Entity Framework

? Security – Both App to App and IAM, Authentication/Authorization policy and regulations process and procedures, data privacy

? Experience with Cloud Technologies including CaaS, SaaS, PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) as part of solution design

? Hybrid Cloud Native Platform Solution – Knowledge of Container Framework, Kubernetes, Public Private Cloud services, AWS/MS Azure/GCP/OpenShift

? Experience and knowledge in Microservices, Web and API including security authentication, authorization, OAuth, OWASP, OpenID, and SAML

? Experience with NoSQL technologies MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elastic Search

? Experience working with distributed technologies: • Integration and design patterns • Messaging interfaces (Kafka) • Business Process Modeling • Business Rules Engines

? Large scale Digital Transformation Program experience

? Domain knowledge: Benefits Insurance Experience

Compensation Data

Compensation range for this position is $96,500-$170,000per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Additional up to 10% yearly bonus potential

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
