Job Description
The Prior Authorization Team is hiring Pharmacy Technicians for a 100% remote opportunity, with a preference for candidates in the Mountain time zone. Technicians will review Prior Authorizations for determination for a department that is part of a large healthcare insurance company. Responsibilities include approving or denying PAs, sending some PAs to Pharmacists for final review, and handling all health plans and medication types. This is a computer-based role with little to no phone work. Process prescription exceptions, resolve claim rejects, and conduct member and physician outreach. Enter member demographics and prescription information into the data processing system. Research and resolve rejected insurance billing issues and/or escalated member issues. Escalate questions regarding prescriptions to a Pharmacist or provide direction on processing. Assist with inbound and/or outbound patient or physician calls.

Work Site
This is a fully remote position.
Work Environment
Professional remote environment. Must have strong Wi-Fi and own office space with a closed door. Monitored system activity with potential termination for long idle periods. Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-7pm in the local time zone, rotating weekends every 4-6 weeks, and holidays with a bid system for schedules. Lunch break is 30 minutes to an hour based on team/business needs. Training schedule: 10am-6:30pm EST. Post-training, regular shift applies. Must have Wi-Fi, workspace, and a smartphone. Equipment provided includes a computer, monitor, and headset.
