Marcom is Apples Global Marketing Communications group. We oversee all of Apples advertising and marketing to ensure the flawless development and execution of world-class communications.
The Clearances & Licensing Manager is responsible for maintaining industry relationships and to secure permissions & rights clearances in connection with marketing the growing library of third-party Apple Arcade games. This marketing (paid and unpaid media) encompasses above the line and below the line advertising, including direct marketing, Apple Retail, interactive, films, channel assets, social media, PR, events, Apple product keynote launches, broadcast, and more. This role also secures permissions for marketing assets used within the App Store app itself (on-platform).
In this role, you will be the key to keep productions moving efficiently by ensuring rights are secured and processes are being followed to satisfy creative marketing executions while identifying and mitigating risk to keep Apple & our game developers brands and IP protected.
Key Qualifications: 3-5 years relevant experience in marketing/advertising or production/licensing fields Experience in the gaming industry a plus Can thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple projects at once Strong understanding of Apple products, including hardware, software, and services Working knowledge of IP rights including copyright, trademark, & licensing in the area of entertainment or adverting (emphasis on digital content/technology a plus) Experience with risk mitigation as it pertains to clearances and rights Proven ability to exercise sound, strategic, and executable judgement in challenging situations Calm approach and strong communication skills internally and externally Natural problem solver Experience with gaming (personally or professionally) a plus
Description: Liaises with creative teams and producers to understand marketing deliverables and Apple Arcade content usage within Secures assets and other content from third-party Apple Arcade game developers based on creative briefs, ongoing feedback, and executive direction Negotiates appropriate usage rights with external third-party game developers within the Apple Arcade ecosystem and communicates terms, guardrails, issues, and risk to other teams within Apple along the creative and production process Responsible for researching trademark and legal issues independently and/or by working with stakeholders across Apple (e.g. Legal, App Store, Business Management, Developer Relations) Assess, manage and communicate risks, and advise team leads concerning risk, exposure and strategic options. Track third-party assets and clearances using a CMS
