Remote K-12 Vision Support Teacher (TVI) Work from Home
Job Description:
We are hiring a Remote Vision Support Teacher to work with K-12 students. This position offers the flexibility of working from home while providing essential education services to visually impaired students.
Responsibilities: Conduct remote vision assessments. Develop accessible lesson plans and materials. Teach Braille, low vision strategies, and technology skills. Work closely with school staff to integrate supports into the curriculum. Report progress to parents and administrators regularly.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education for the Visually Impaired from an accredited institution. Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students with visual impairments, with remote teaching experience preferred. Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and collaborate with school teams remotely. Proficiency in using tele-education platforms and technology for remote service delivery.
