The Program Manager IEP will be responsible for the ongoing execution of Delta's Internal Evaluation Program. The IEP is accountable for ensuring the company's operations comply with all relevant governmental and industry standards for safety, security, and regulatory compliance as well as Delta's business practices and
objectives. The IEP is a vital component of the airline's Safety Management System (SMS).
This position reports directly to the Manager Internal Evaluation Program and assists him or her in assessing operational compliance and risk at the operational level, determining root cause, and reporting/acting to correct or mitigate to senior leadership at the executive level.
Summary Of Responsibilities (not Comprehensive Of All Tasks) Reviews the design and documentation of key programs and assesses their compliance with underlying regulatory and business requirements. Identifies gaps and non-compliance and partners with process owners to ensure that they are corrected within the confines of the approved change approval processes. Evaluate program operations using existing tools (Safety Assurance System (SAS), individual assessment plans, and other standard tools) to evaluate effectiveness and conformance, as well as identify hazards. Develop and implement new tools and assessment methodologies where necessary. Analyzes data from the above activities at an operations level, in addition to departmental and program-level perspective to assess risk and ensure that process owners and affected parties are informed and able to develop and implement effective corrective and/or mitigation strategies. Interacts with Delta, supplier, and regulatory personnel at all levels in consulting, reporting, and performance feedback areas. Actively promotes safety and proactively drives needed changes. Interfaces with internal and external customers at all levels, including executives and senior management and lead cross-functional department quality, safety, and security improvement projects. Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being.

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications) Should have at least 8 years of experience in scheduled commercial air carrier operations, with specific in-depth knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: Technical Operations, Flight Operations, ACS, Ground Handling, In-Flight Service and/or Operational Control. Must have a thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and familiarity with other industry and regulatory requirements is also desirable. Must be able to work successfully across business unit lines and at all levels (front-line to executive). Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, analytical capabilities, time management, facilitator skills and possess the ability to formulate comprehensive reports. Must be a successful mediator and problem solver, and able to build effective relationships. Must be performing satisfactorily in current position. Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred Qualifications) Bachelor's degree preferred in an applicable technical or management field; a post-graduate degree is highly a plus. Strong background in auditing or similar field preferred. Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification or similar preferred. Familiarity with Deltas Safety Management System (SMS) a plus. Strong background in some form of In-Flight Services or Operational Control a plus.
